Microsoft office
: A popular office sweet of Microsoft. Microsoft Office is a package through which all office functions can be done. We know that there are many tasks in the office such as drafting letters, calculations, graphical tasks, presentations, database management and email etc. Microsoft has prepared a package of software to do all these tasks through computer.


What is the history of microsoft office?

Microsoft Office was first introduced in 1989 by Microsoft Corporation for the Mac-operating system. First version introduced in 1990 for Windows operating system [1]. Microsoft Office-2013 is its current version.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Office is a popular word processor included in the suite.  It provides us the facility of typing, editing, formatting and printing.  Office documents can be saved through Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Excel

(Full name: Microsoft Office Excel, native English pronunciation: Microsoft Office Eccel) is a spreadsheet-application created and distributed by Microsoft for its Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.  This application is a part of Microsoft Office.  The main features of Microsoft Excel include its calculation facilities, graphing tools, pivot tables and a macro programming language VBA (VBA: Visual Basic for Applications).  Since its version 5 in 1993, it is the most widely available spreadsheet application on these platforms.

Microsoft Powerpoint

Microsoft Office is a popular presentation software included in the suite.  Its first edition arrived on 22 May 1990.  It can work on Windows and Apple's Mac operating systems.

The content is displayed primarily through slides in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation.

Microsoft Access

Microsoft Access, also known as Microsoft Office Access, is a database management system created and distributed by Microsoft for its Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X.  This application is a part of Microsoft Office.  It is used in creating databases, managing databases, analyzing and creating reports.

Microsoft Outlook

There is a Personal Information Manager from Microsoft (Microsoft), which is available in both forms, as a separate application as well as the Microsoft Office suite.  The current version is Microsoft Outlook 2010 for Windows and 2011 for Mac.

Although often used primarily as an e-mail application, it includes a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking, a journal, and web browsing.

It can be used as a standalone application, or for multi-users in an organization, it can work with Microsoft Exchange Server (Microsoft Exchange Server) and Microsoft SharePoint Server (Microsoft SharePoint Server), such as shared mail.  Completion of boxes and calendars, exchange public folders, share point lists and fixed schedules.  

There are some third-party add-on applications that integrate Outlook with other devices such as BlackBerry mobile phones and other software such as Office and Skype (Skype) Internet Communications.  

Developers can create their own custom software using Microsoft Visual Studio that works with Outlook and Office components. In addition, Windows Mobile devices can synchronize almost all Outlook data to Outlook Mobile.

  • Ctrl + W - Close the active window / document.
  • Ctrl + Z - - Undo an action.
  • Ctrl + Y - - Redo the last action or repeat an action.
  • Ctrl + S - Save a document.
  • Ctrl + P - Print a document.
  • Ctrl + K - Insert a hyperlink.
  • Alt + Left - Arrow Go back one page.
  • Alt + Right - Arrow Go forward one page.
  • Ctrl + C - Copy selected text or graphics to the Office Clipboard.
  • Ctrl + V - Paste the most recent addition to the Office Clipboard.
  • Ctrl + Shift + A - Format all letters as capitals.
  • Ctrl + B - Applies or removes bold formatting.
  • Ctrl + I - Applies or removes italic formatting.
  • Ctrl + = - Apply subscript formatting (automatic spacing).
  • Alt, F, A - Save As.
  • Alt, S, T, I - Insert Table of Contents.
  • Alt, S, T, R - Remove Table of Contents.

  • Ctrl + Shift + C - Copies the formatting of selected text
  • Ctrl + Shift + V - Pastes the formatting on selected text
  • Ctrl + 1 - Single Line Spacing
  • Ctrl + 2 - Double Line Spacing
  • Ctrl + 5 - 1½ Line Spacing
  • Ctrl + 0 12 pt- Space above paragraph
  • Ctrl + Shift +> - Increase Font Size
  • Ctrl + Shift + <- Decrease Font Size
